Halloween Fun

Halloween started off with the Beym family with Auntie Darlene, Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Flores. Toy Story was definitely the theme this year.
Penny and Charlie...I mean Jessi and Rex!

Livi, Isa, Penny and Charlie...I mean Bullseye, Buzz, Jessie and Rex.

At night we joined Adelyn and the gang for some fun trick or treating. Charlie's highlight of the night was when she found a garage transformed into a blinking light musical club! She danced the night away. She even learned a few new dance moves and kept grabbing my hand saying "Come on!" She loved it!

Our Last Spooky Snoopy Visit

Last night I told Charlie that we would go see Snoopy in the morning and she answered with "Candy!" She is going to be very disappointed when Halloween is over. Anyway, she decided she wanted to wear her Rex costume there as well because she also remembered that when you wear a Rex costume you definitely get candy too. I think her mission today was to get some candy. You think? We had another fun and relaxing morning at Knott's with Adelyn and Nicole this time as well. I'm so glad Charlie has Adelyn. They just love each other so much. We let them go in the bubble foam party for a little while. We had to leave when Adelyn got a tiny bit of bubble on her Jessie boots and Charlie was almost belly deep in the bubbles! One was fussing because the bubbles got on her while the other was fussing because we wouldn't let her dive into the bubbles! What a pair!

Mega Pumpkin Carving

Does this really surprise you? Of course Jimmy would use one of his beloved tools to open his mega pumpkin! I think Charlie is looking at him like he is a little crazy!

Daddy, you want me to get in there?

Ok, I will stand but I WILL NOT sit!

We are going to try to grow our own huge pumpkins next year...do you see the size of these seeds? Wow!

Jimmy had to get Charlie the biggest pumpkin ever this year!

It is a tradition that Jimmy's friend Eric goes to LA in the middle of the night every year to meet the produce guy who brings the 100 pound pumpkins in. This year since Charlie is a little older now he asked Jimmy if he would like to be in on the pumpkin getting as well. Of course Jimmy wanted one! So now I'm sure every year we will be getting a great big pumpkin for our porch. Jimmy's plan was to carve open the pumpkin and have Charlie sit inside it....we will have to see about that!
Since Jimmy works this weekend we carved our pumpkins a little early. Charlie thought it was a little gross at first. She would say eeeeewwwww! But after awhile she stuck her hand in the pumpkin with Jimmy to get the goop out. She really liked picking up the goop from the ground with the spoon...she thought spoons were only for yogurt because she kept saying "Yogurt!" I guess I should let her use a spoon for another food product!

At night Jimmy lit the pumpkins and she thought it was really neat. At first she saw Daddy with the candle and started singing happy birthday and wanted ice cream. It was funny! She has such a one track mind...ice cream, ice cream, ice cream!

A Baby Is On His Way...

Adelyn is going to be a big sister in January so we had a family baby shower for the new baby this weekend. It was a lot of fun! We had a jumper, Halloween crafts, taco ladies, a few games and lots of treats. I tried to match the party to the bedding they picked out. So we had a vintage toy themed party. Thanks Joy and Bill for letting us use your house. It was perfect.

I did not see much of Charlie at the party...I think she was inside the jumper for most of it! She did get out to eat a cupcake though. My dad always loves watching her eat a cupcake...

I can't wait to hold the little guy and give him lots of kisses!

Mickey's Halloween Party

Cold, rainy, wet, thundering, lightning, cranky....and we were off to Mickey's Halloween Party! Nicole and I love to take the girls on adventures and we always have the best of times. This year we decided to try out the Disney Halloween Night. When we bought our tickets we didn't know the storm of the century was going to come to Southern California. After buying some rain boots we were ready to go. We had a really good time. The first 45 minutes were pretty awful, but then a magical moment happened and all the rain clouds decided to go around Disneyland for the rest of the night. Disneyland really is the most magically place on Earth. The girls had a blast finding characters, getting tons of candy, dancing all night, watching the best parade ever, seeing fireworks, stomping through puddles in their boots and meeting some princesses.

Charlie has just entered the world of princesses. Ever since Daddy has been calling her princess she has been smittened by them all. I still am trying to figure out with one is her favorite. The line for the princesses was only about 10 minutes so she got to meet them for the very first time today. Charlie acted like the princesses have been waiting all night just to see her. It was so cute to see her talking to the princesses. I think Ariel is her favorite because she lives in the ocean with fish, but I'm not sure yet.

I love how she is on her tippy toes in this picture.

Ariel and Rex

Rex and Belle

She wouldn't stop staring at Sleeping Beauty.

We had such a fun night. We got home at 12:45...boy was mama tired the next day!

Pomona Pumpkin Patch

This year we decided to go to the Pomona Pumpkin Patch. There were pumpkins everywhere! Charlie thought they all were really great places to sit. She tried out them all it seemed like...

Thanks for letting us borrow your wagon for our pumpkin. Next year we will bring our own!

This is my favorite picture of the day. Charlie seems to be saying, "Oh no! Not another picture!"
There were tractors to sit in, animals to pet and feed, mazes to go through and food to eat. Charlie kept telling all the goats to sit and was petting them while Adelyn held on to my hand very tightly and kept telling me to only feed the little ones, not the big ones. What opposites!

We had lots of fun! See you next year Pomona Pumpkin Patch!

Flu Shot and Spooky Snoopy

She loves Snoopy so much...this is still the only character she turns around and smiles for. The only other character is Pluto...she must have a thing for dogs.

Here is the ghost she made. She sleeps with the one she made last week. I'm sure Ghost #1 and Ghost #2 will become quite good friends.

Doesn't she look so old crossing a spooky old bridge all by herself?

Through the spooky maze...

Yum Yum!

Charlie and I both went to get our flu shot today. It was a piece of cake. Usually I stress out before and then my arm hurts for days. This time I had to be strong because Charlie was next. After we got our shots Charlie said "Boo boo....hurt" and we were on our way. She did not even cry. The nurse gave her some stickers and she picked out a little plastic leopard from the prize table. I'm thinking dislocating your elbow hurts a lot more than a little flu shot.

We decided to go to Camp Spooky at Knott's to make us both feel better. We went last Saturday morning as well. It was so much fun I wanted to take her back for some more. Charlie gets to trick or treat at five candy stations, ride on the trucks and twirly ride, make a ghost, go through 2 mazes and see Snoopy twice. Today they even had a bubbly foam machine. It was drizzling a little so there weren't too many kids there. I let her eat one lollipop to end our fun morning. I'm a little worried Charlie is going to be disappointed when Camp Spooky is over and it is back to the regular Camp Snoopy. Maybe they will do something for Christmas...
